About De Cat

Catalytic converters are necessary to reduce emissions but create back pressure due to the exhaust gases being forced through a catalyst, and therefore decrease high end engine power. Many modern catalytic converters only produce 1-3 psi of back pressure.

By replacing the factory catalytic converter you will free up approx 5-10% power. The car will rev a lot easier and benefit from an increased throttle response. All CAT bypass pipes come with a hole for the lamba probe and most can be bolted on or off.

The car will also become slightly louder as you have in theory removed a silencer box.

If you remove the CAT you do run the risk of the car not passing the MOT because of increased emissions.

De-CATS are not for road use and are only recommended for track cars
