This is the perfect performance bolt-on improvement for a stock engine along with a low restriction air filter, or the final touch to a highly modified one. The very low thermal conductivity phenolic material in the evoheatshields dramatically reduces the transfer of heat from the cylinder head to the intake manifold. The resulting temperature drop inside the intake manifold (as compared to the temperature at the cylinder head) translates into additional available power, a much sharper engine response and even some gains in mileage.

The evoheatshield for the VW 2.0-liter SOHC 8V Cross-Flow engines, #A3101 in Golf/Jetta III cars, includes 2 OEM lower intake manifold gaskets, 1 OEM upper intake manifold gasket, a 0.250"-thick black phenolic evoheatshield spacer, 2 cylindrical phenolic spacers, all-stainless steel bolts and washers, relocating fuel rail shield bracket and hardware, and illustrated instructions manual.
